Crypto-asset risk disclosure
Read this before sending any crypto-asset to anyone, including us.
Draft. This text is pending review by counsel and may change before it takes effect.
The risks
Crypto-assets are highly volatile, subject to changing regulation, and can be lost through technical failure, human error, theft or fraud. Transfers are irreversible: if you send to the wrong address or on the wrong network, the funds may be lost permanently.
Stablecoins depend on their issuers. An issuer can freeze an address, and a stablecoin can lose its peg.
The legal and tax treatment of crypto-assets differs between jurisdictions and changes over time. Depending on where you are, a crypto-asset may be treated, for example, as property, as a financial instrument or, in some jurisdictions, as legal tender, and a donation of it may or may not be tax-deductible or taxable. LSS does not advise on, and makes no representation about, the treatment in your jurisdiction: please ask a local adviser. [LAWYER]
Scams
Scammers impersonate projects like ours. To protect you:
- LSS issues donation addresses only through its donation gateway, after your origin address passes screening.
- LSS never announces address changes by email, direct message, phone or social media. Our social media accounts never post donation addresses.
- LSS never offers returns, rewards, tokens or giveaways.
- LSS never asks for seed phrases, private keys or wallet passwords. Anyone who does is not us.
If someone contacts you claiming to be LSS and asks for money or wallet details, do not respond. Tell us at [email protected].
Your responsibility
You are responsible for your own wallet security, for checking the network and asset before you send, and for any fees.
