Contributing is voluntary
Contributing (translating, writing, reviewing, coding, designing, organising, promoting) is voluntary.
No relationship, no right to money
Contributing or holding membership does not create any partnership, joint venture, agency, employment or fiduciary relationship, and gives no right to profits, distributions, treasury assets or compensation unless agreed in a separate written contract. Contribution points have no monetary value (see Points, badges and certificates).
Licences
Contributions are licensed under the project licences: content under CC BY-SA 4.0, code under the project’s open-source licence (see Intellectual property). Only contribute work you have the right to license.
Money and representation
Contributors and chapters may not collect or receive money on behalf of LSS, represent themselves as employees or agents, or make commitments in LSS’s name. Anyone who wants to donate must use the donation gateway.
Conduct
All participants must follow the Ethical Framework and the Conflicts of Interest Policy.
Members and the Council
Members vote only within the scope defined in the Operating Agreement; operational, payment and compliance decisions are made by the Council under written policies. Reaching the contribution threshold makes you eligible to apply for membership; the Council admits members under the Operating Agreement. See Governance.
Your data
We store the email you give with a contribution in encrypted form and use it only about your contribution. You appear in the public contributor list only if you choose to. See the Privacy notice.
